Caves d’Alagoa began on the 31st August 1994 as a response to major changes in the wine industry.

The company’s main aim is to produce and sell wine and its associated products. Since its inception, determination and professionalism have characterised all aspects of our activity, a fact that we are very proud of.

In 2006 our growth inspired the desire to enter new markets. We wanted to show the world what we did and how well we did it! Brazil was the country chosen for our first exports, followed closely by Angola and Belgium that same year.

This was a historic landmark for our company where, once again, the support and spirit of sharing nurtured within the company were instrumental..

In 2010 we were one of the national companies who received the PME Excelência and PME Líder awards [distinguishing the best SME’s] by IAPMEI - Instituto de Apoio às Pequenas e Médias Empresas e à Inovação [the Portuguese Agency for SMEs and Innovation] in recognition of our financial performance, sustainable management and production and export ability.

In 2012, aware of the drawbacks but driven by our growth abroad, we expanded our premises from 1500m2 to 6000m2, and our storage capacity to 2 million litres.
